Born in Stuttgart, Peter Graneis received his first guitar lessons at the age of nine. As a junior student, he began his studies with Professor Johannes Monno at Stuttgart University of Music, where he later completed his bachelor’s degree with distinction. After completing his master’s degree at Escola Superior de M\u00fasica de Catalunya in Barcelona with Professor Zoran Duki\u0107, he continued his training at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Here, he researched modern playing techniques on the classical guitar as part of his master’s thesis and received a Master of Music with distinction in 2018. <\/p>\n

He has received lessons from international guitar greats such as David Russell, Judica\u00ebl Perroy, Laura Young, Sergio Assad, and Thomas M\u00fcller-Pering.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of his studies, he sought out sometimes unorthodox ways to play the instrument as effectively as possible. Over the years, however, his focus shifted from \u201chow?\u201d to \u201cwhat?\u201d: He creates programs with consideration for the interaction and connection between the individual pieces and examines the dramaturgy of a musical performance. In doing so, he draws equally on well-known and lesser-known compositions and contributes his own arrangements of works by Telemann, Chopin, and Debussy, among others. <\/p>\n

Peter Graneis is the winner, prize winner, and finalist of numerous international guitar competitions, and a scholarship holder of the Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg Art Foundation, the Neustart Kultur initiative, and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).<\/p>\n

He has released his recordings on two CDs and one vinyl record, as well as in numerous videos. Peter Graneis is a regular guest at festivals in Europe and Asia, and his program consists equally of well-known repertoire and rarely heard finds and transcriptions. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
