Born as Jule Malischke in Heidenheim an der Brenz, Julie is one of the most compelling voices in today\u2019s guitar and singer-songwriter scene. She blends masterful guitar technique with emotional depth and a distinctive vocal tone. On stages across Europe\u2014and now North America\u2014she captivates audiences with a rare balance of technical brilliance, poetic expression, and charismatic stage presence.<\/p>\n

Her musical journey began with classical guitar studies at the Leopold Mozart Center in Augsburg, followed by a master\u2019s degree and an advanced artist diploma at the University of Music Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden. Until 2024, she taught there as a lecturer and led the guitar program in the Department of Music Education. Since the beginning of 2025, she has taken a break from academia to devote herself fully to her artistic career, a decision that has further fueled her creative evolution.<\/p>\n

Rooted in classical guitar tradition yet open to a wide stylistic spectrum, Julie Mal\u00eda moves effortlessly between concert guitar repertoire, intricate fingerstyle arrangements, and original songs infused with elements of jazz, pop, and folk.<\/p>\n

Her latest album, Seagull (2024)\u2014nominated for the German Record Critics\u2019 Award\u2014is an intimate and personal work. The songs explore themes of courage, transformation, and self-trust, revealing an artist who creates soundscapes that balance introspection and expansiveness. The album also features carefully reimagined interpretations of select pieces, each touched by her unmistakable style.<\/p>\n

Since 2024, Julie Mal\u00eda has been performing alongside acoustic guitar legend Don Ross, touring extensively throughout Germany, Europe, and North America.<\/p>\n

Through her music, she builds bridges between worlds\u2014between classical and contemporary, virtuosity and emotion, grounding and lightness.
