As a solo artist, he pursues a unique artistic path in which interpretation, composition, and instrument merge into a cohesive musical identity
Born into a family of professional musicians, Zack received an early and comprehensive musical education, winning numerous prizes at Jugend musiziert competitions. At 15, he discovered the guitar as his primary expressive medium and soon moved to Chile, where he studied classical guitar while also training in traditional guitar making. This rare dual expertise continues to shape his artistry; he regularly performs on instruments he has built himself, giving his concerts a deeply personal sound.
Christian Zack completed his studies at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden, graduating from the Meisterklasse program. In 2021, he was awarded the European Guitar Award, marking a key milestone in his international solo career. His critically acclaimed debut album Momentos consists almost entirely of his own compositions; selected works have also been published by Schott Music.
Driven by an unending search for new sonic worlds, Zack’s music speaks directly from within. With humor, elegance, and emotional depth, he leads audiences on a captivating journey through the guitar’s expressive possibilities. His compositions blend Impressionism, fingerstyle, Flamenco, South American folklore, and jazz into a distinctive sound language.
As a soloist, he has performed at major festivals across Europe and South America, including the Bohemian Guitar Festival (Czech Republic), Nürtingen Guitar Festival, Gezeitenfestival Ostfriesland, and the Entrecuerdas Festival in Santiago de Chile. In addition to his solo work, he is active in the Duo Elún with bassist and charango player Valentina Solis, exploring chamber-like textures rooted in Latin American traditions. He is also teaching at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden and is supported by the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes).
