She began her musical education in her home village with Sonia Haralabidou and continued in Thessaloniki, where she earned her guitar diploma at just fifteen under the guidance of Loucia Samourkas. She went on to study at the University of Music Franz Liszt in Weimar with Ricardo Gallén and spent a semester at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Adriano Del Sal. In 2025, she began her master’s studies at the Robert Schumann University of Music in Düsseldorf in the class of Joaquín Clerch.

Her international breakthrough came in 2023 with a tour in South Korea, where she became the first classical guitarist to perform on several of the country’s major stages. This was followed by invitations to festivals and concert series across Europe and Latin America, including appearances in Brazil, Chile, Puerto Rico, Spain, Italy, Norway, Belgium, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, and Greece.

Ioanna has performed at renowned festivals such as Forum Gitarre Wien, the Festival de Guitarra Arroyo de la Luz in Spain, and the Patras Guitar Festival in Greece. She has also been invited to give masterclasses at the University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez and Ponce. Critics praise her emotional depth, technical maturity, and charismatic presence on stage. Evangelos Asimakopoulos describes her as an artist “with fiery temperament and passionate interpretation,” while Dr. José Antonio López refers to her as “the new global sensation of classical guitar.”

Her artistic achievements have earned her numerous awards, including prizes at the International Guitar Competition Ciudad de Málaga, the Puerto Rico World Guitar Festival, the International Guitar Festival of Athens, the Anna Amalia Competition in Weimar, Forum Gitarre Wien, and several other competitions in Germany and Greece.

Ioanna is an endorsed artist for Knobloch Strings and has recorded for platforms such as Siccas Guitars and Altamira Guitars. Her playing combines technical precision with tonal sensitivity and vibrant expression—a distinctive voice that brings exceptional depth to every interpretation.
